 Fall in Maine is special: clear sunny days, cool nights, leaves turning colors and the crunch of a good apple. If you aren't fortunate enough to be here, let us at least share the crunch.
Lakeside Orchards is located in Manchester, Maine, just west of Augusta, Maine's capitol city. The orchard is owned by Steve and Marilyn Meyerhans, who also own and manage The Apple Farm in Fairfield, Maine. The orchard grows 30 varieties of apples , 3 varieties of pears, and crabapples.
We operate a retail store that sells apples, pears, cider, gift packs, delicious treats and gifts from mid-August through Spring.
We ship apple gift packs throughout the U.S. from the time the first McIntosh are picked in September until we run out of apples in the Spring. Non-apple gift packs can be shipped anytime.
Please note, that while we grow apple trees, and graft new (to us) varieties onto trunks of existing trees whose varieties have not proven themselves, we do not sell young apple trees for you to plant. Our cool Fall weather gives Maine's apples extra color, taste and firmness. We are best known for our superb McIntosh, but, tasty Cortlands, Red and Golden Delicious, Spartans, Macouns, old favorites such as Northern Spy and Russets and new varieties like Mutsu and Blushing Grannies, are usually available for shipping along with some other varieties in season. We choose large, extra fancy apples and pack them in soft foam inside sturdy cardboard containers so that they arrive in top condition.
